Our Story
Kody and Meaghan Barbier are a Shreveport, Louisiana-based couple who felt the lead of the Lord to spread His Gospel. They are ordained ministers and acknowledged missionaries with the Louisiana Network of the Assemblies of God.
Since our inception, Barbier Ministries has been totally focused on Spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
The couple met at University of Louisiana Lafayette during college, then relocated to Shreveport in 2011. They were married in 2012. Kody and Meaghan acted on the call of God to be missionary evangelists to Kenya, East Africa.
In 2014, the Barbiers first visited Kenya where their ministry was born. They then officially moved to Nairobi in 2017. The Barbiers are currently concentrating their efforts on evangelism to unreached areas and supporting local leadership throughout Kenya.
Kody has felt a call on his life since he was a young child.
He was saved at age eleven and baptized in the Holy Spirit at twelve. It was during one of three missions trips to Romania that he felt the call of The Lord on his future life in missions. Kody was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, but moved around in his teenage years. Graduating from the University of Louisiana Lafayette in December 2010, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. He also acquired a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Louisiana Tech University, and he is currently working on a Masters of Divinity at Southwestern Assemblies of God University. After developing a career in banking, the Lord re-birthed a love for ministry. Kody is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God and is dedicated to sharing the uncompromising Gospel to all who will hear.
Meaghan feels led to minister to women who are hurting throughout the world.
Meaghan is a Shreveport, Louisiana native who moved to Lafayette for college. After four years of schooling in Lafayette, she moved back to Shreveport to finish her degree in June of 2011. Meaghan holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations from Louisiana State University Shreveport. She previously worked in online advertising, holding certifications in Google AdWords and Yahoo Bing. She was raised in church and saved at age eleven, but it was not until she and Kody started attending Bethel AG Shreveport that she learned about the Holy Spirit. She was filled with the Holy Spirit at the age of twenty-three. Meaghan has a deep passion to encourage women who feel trapped by their life and society. Meaghan is also an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God.
AnnMarie Bloom, the couple's first child, was born in July of 2017.
AnnMarie is a sweet, caring, smart young lady who has brought so much joy to Meaghan and Kody. When able, AnnMarie accompanies her parents in ministry. She will, prayerfully, lead her own ministry one day in the future!
